About the Author
Capt. Dr. Janardan Prasad didn’t just witness India’s transformation—he lived it. From 1960s medical college halls to Army operating tents and rural health camps, his journey reflects a lifetime of service, discovery, and compassion. A decorated Army surgeon and former Director of State Health Services, he has travelled through India’s many layers—across regions, communities, and emotions.
An artist and writer at heart, his drawings and literary works have appeared in prestigious magazines and exhibitions. He also founded Kala-Niketan to promote young talent in art and literature. His previous books include Tanakpur – Reminiscences of a Soldier, Apni Dharti Apne Log, Picnic, and Ek Sukumaria Ka Ant.
And through Lovers’ Lane, he offers a gift: stories written in a tone both tender and true that blend fact and fiction, crafted not from imagination alone—but drawn from lived experiences, witnessed events, and whispered truths.
Lover's Lane
Lovers’ Lane is not a book about love stories—it’s about the romance of life itself. Set in the backdrop of a rebuilding, post-independence India, it captures moments from crowded trains, quiet villages, and chaotic hospitals—each story shedding light on humanity, compassion, and the fading values of a materialistic society.
Blending fiction and fact, these stories are drawn from lived experiences and whispered truths. Some were witnessed. Some were felt. All are deeply human.
Through its pages, Lovers’ Lane invites you to pause and reflect—not just on love, but on longing, loss, duty, and the quiet strength that defines us.
